Ralph Levering taught US history at Davidson College from 1986 until his retirement in 2013, focusing on US diplomatic and 20th-century American history. He received the Hunter-Hamilton Love of Teaching Award in 2006. He is the author or coauthor of nine books, including a recent history of the Town of Davidson. Ralph enjoys living in Davidson, hiking in nearby mountains, playing with grandchildren, and attending Davidson Friends (Quaker) Meeting.
