Our History
DavidsonLearns began in March 2012 when a small group of local citizens met to form a Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) in Davidson. The intention was to start small — six to eight courses per semester — and expand as needed. In fall 2012, DavidsonLearns announced its first term, offering three courses. By the winter term of 2018, DavidsonLearns was offering 15 courses, developed in response to the growing enthusiasm for adult learning in our community. The founders and subsequent leaders have kept community needs and feedback in mind as DavidsonLearns grew, designing curriculum and engaging faculty accordingly.
