Rabbi Morton Kaplan
Morton Kaplan received a BA in Ancient and Medieval European History from the University of Cincinnati. After attending Hebrew Union College, he received his Rabbinical Ordination and Master of Hebrew Letters. He served two years as an Army Chaplain before assuming rabbinical positions at several New York and New Jersey congregations. Committed to Reform Judaism and its outlook on the world, he has taught at Wheeling College and St. Leo College and lectured at many churches as well as teaching at his synagogues. After his retirement he has become a member of Temple Beth-El in Charlotte, where he continues to teach — on a part-time basis — about Judaism in general and the meaning of Reform Judaism in particular.
