Mark Stanback was a Professor of Biology at Davidson College from 1995 through 2022. His field of specialty was avian behavioral ecology (think birds + behavior + evolution + ecology). He taught Animal Behavior/Behavioral Ecology, Vertebrate Zoology, Evolutionary Biology, and Introductory Biology. Specifically, he studied the breeding biology of Eastern Bluebirds, Tree Swallows, Brown-headed Nuthatches, and other cavity-nesting species. He also conducted research on the breeding biology of hornbills in Namibia.
