Linda Austin, MD, is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and practiced clinical medicine for over forty years. She served as Professor of Psychiatry at the Medical University of South Carolina with a special interest in teaching the public about mental health and preventative medicine in media-based programs. In addition, Dr. Austin hosted the public radio program What’s on Your Mind? for thirteen years; has written three books; has produced four films on mental health issues; has appeared on numerous television interview shows, including Oprah Winfrey; and has been an active podcaster.
