John Kuykendall is a graduate of the Davidson Class of ’59 who has lived in Davidson since 1984. He holds advanced degrees from Union Presbyterian Seminary, Yale Divinity School, and Princeton University. His field of special interest is American Religious History. He taught at Auburn University in the Department of Religion 1973–84; Davidson College in the Department of Religion 1984–2003; and as visiting and adjunct teacher at several other schools. In addition, he has twice served as president of Davidson College.
