Instructors
David Wessner, PhD
A Professor of Biology at Davidson College, David Wessner teaches introductory biology and courses on genetics, microbiology, and HIV/AIDS. He co-authored Microbiology, a textbook for undergraduate biology majors, and The Cartoon Guide to Biology. He also is a contributor to Forbes.com, writing articles on COVID-19. Prior to joining the faculty at Davidson, David conducted research on coronaviruses at the Navy Medical Center in Washington, DC. He earned his PhD in Microbiology and Molecular Genetics from Harvard University and his BA in Biology from Franklin and Marshall College.
