Instructors
Cole Barton, PhD

Cole Barton, PhD, was the inaugural C. Louise Nelson Professor at Davidson College, where he taught the unlikely combination of clinical psychology and statistics for 32 years. He received Davidson’s Hunter-Hamilton Love of Teaching Award in 1996. He was a licensed practicing psychologist in North Carolina and trained psychotherapists around the United States. With several published book chapters and more than 30 research reports, he was awarded a number of grants to support his research, along with an NIMH-MacArthur Fellowship to the Center for Advanced Study at Stanford, and a Jessie DuPont Ball Fellowship at the National Humanities Center.
