About the Event

In this 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution, North Carolina residents may wonder, “What happened here?” From the 1775 burning of the only fort destroyed by Patriots anywhere, to a final Redcoat raid in 1782, our state was the scene of surprising stories from the mountains to the sea. Examples include a forgotten campaign against the Cherokee, an Overmountain Campaign that turned the tide of war, an iconic chase between two armies ending in a climactic battle, a kidnapped governor, and a vicious civil war between partisans. Enslaved people, minorities, and women all took courageous stands. A major partisan battle, courageous militia stands, and key events in that iconic chase occurred within short drives from Davidson. Come become an instant expert on Revolutionary N.C. and you’ll amaze your “kith and kin!”
