About the Event

The rich history of Notre-Dame de Paris dates back to 1163, when construction began on the site of a former Gallo-Roman temple. Designated a UNESCO world heritage site in 1991, the cathedral has been the site of one imperial self-coronation, two presidential funeral masses, and numerous attacks by axe-wielding revolutionaries. Prior to the 2019 conflagration that destroyed the steeple and much of the roof, Notre-Dame welcomed some 12 million visitors annually. Since its reopening this past December, initial attendance estimates for 2025 surpass 15 million.
