Join the Orchestra of the Carolinas for the final concert of its inaugural season, featuring Grammy Award winning jazz vocalist Carmen Bradford. A community reception will follow the performance. Tickets are available at http://orchestracarolinas.org/ and at the door.
Davidson Learns invites you to the Pre-Concert Conversation at 6:00 P.M. Bill Lawing, Executive Director, and Tara Keith, Artistic Director, will discuss three legendary musical legacies: Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, and Nelson Riddle. The Pre-Concert Conversation is free, but there is a ticket charge for the concert ($20 general admission; $15 seniors).
Concert Notes: Upon Ella Fitzgerald’s retirement from the Count Basie Orchestra, Mr. Basie chose Carmen Bradford, then a college student in Texas, to replace her.
