About the Event

What if mastering chess, or being an experienced typist or accountant, or flying a plane could protect you from cognitive decline? Research now suggests that some - but not all - areas of expertise may insulate people against particular areas of age-related cognitive decline. Dr. Kristi Multhaup, Vail Professor of Psychology at Davidson College, specializes in cognitive aging and memory. In this lecture, she will discuss which types of expertise appear to mitigate which types of age-related cognitive decline.
