The pipe organ has always been an intriguing mystery. How does it work? This is your chance to learn!
Stay for a free organ recital presented by Organ at Davidson.
You will have an opportunity to have your questions answered by building an organ yourself. Orgelkids is a 133-piece kit that can be assembled into a working, two-manual mechanical action pipe organ. You will assemble the frame, look inside the windchest, attach the trackers (key openers), sort the keys, and stand up the pipes. Then you'll see how the pipes speak by pumping wind with the bellows, and let the music begin. You can compare this instrument to the big organ in the sanctuary with some further demonstration and then stay for a free organ concert in the Organ at Davidson series.
Orgelkids USA is a 501(c)(3) whose purpose is to entice the public to engage with the King of Instruments by empowering them to build a working pipe organ.
